IMPORTANT NOTICE : Licensing

PhotoFrame Manager is subject to strict licensing requirements which are automatically enforced by the software. The process for this is summarised below. Full details together with the terms and conditions of the licenses are contained in the End User License Agreement under which licenses are sold.

Licenses may be purchased through the PhotoFrame Manager web site (or elsewhere). Purchase of licenses requires that a PhotoFrame Manager account be set up to which the licenses purchased are linked. Such accounts are password protected and linked to the e-mail address supplied when they are set up (or any new e-mail address supplied later) and that e-mail address is then used to transmit authorisation codes required for the activation procedure referred to below.

After PhotoFrame Manager is installed on any machine, in order to function it must have internet access to the PhotoFrame Manager web site (which may require the user to make adjustments to the configuration of any firewall, proxy server, anti-virus or other security software on the machine) and the user will be required to complete a simple activation procedure, including entering an authorisation code sent to the e-mail address associated with the PhotoFrame Manager account. Such authorisation codes are specific to the occasion of each activation and, in particular, are valid for only a short period of time.

Thereafter, PhotoFrame Manager will periodically require internet access to the PhotoFrame Manager web site to confirm that the activated license remains valid. If such internet access is not available, PhotoFrame Manager will eventually stop working and the user will be required to repeat the activation procedure. Normally such confirmation will be automatic and will not require any manual input. However, in certain circumstances (for example, if PhotoFrame Manager has not been used on that machine for a long time) it may be necessary to repeat the activation procedure.

Each license purchased entitles the purchaser to install and run PhotoFrame Manager on ONE machine. After the initial purchase, activation and, if required, re-activation cost nothing and the license is unlimited in duration.

Licenses may be transferred between machines. To do this, the license must first be released from the machine on which it is installed and then reactivated on the new machine. If for any reason a license cannot be released it is possible to reset all the licenses linked to the account (though this can only be done 3 times in any 365 day period). After such a reset, each machine on which a license has been activated will require that the license be reactivated when it next checks the validity of the license. Failure to reactivate will result in PhotoFrame Manager ceasing to work on that machine.

Certain changes in the hardware of a machine may also result in it being necessary to reactivate PhotoFrame Manager on that machine.
